Monkey See Monkey Do

Kaylin is at the point where she is very interested in doing what Chad or I are doing. Last night the baby was moving like crazy, to the point you could see body parts (knees, feet) sticking out, so I lifted my shirt to show Chad. Chad put his hand on my belly to feel him, so Kaylin did this. I am sure the child is wondering what the big deal about my belly is and why everyone touches it all the time. Chad then laid his head on my belly, so Kaylin laid her head on my belly. My daughter cracks me up. I am sure she can feel the baby moving, but she really acts like she knows what she is feeling and concentrates really hard. I just thought I would share the story with all of you and a few pictures. It might not mean anything to any of you, but I just think it is so amazing how these little ones learn and grow just by watching.

38 Weeks

I hit my 38 week mark and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. This pregnancy has been very uncomfortable for me, unlike my pregnancy with Kaylin. I went to the doctor yesterday and am dialated 1-2 cm. I'm trying not to get too excited about that, since you can be dialated for weeks.
Kaylin is really growing and changing everyday. She has turned into quite the mouth telling us "no" and pointing her little finger at us and yelling. She is very independent too and wants to try and dress herself and wants to walk everywhere by herself (w/o holding anyone's hand). I tell everyone that I used to think those harness things were cruel, but lately I have been putting some serious thought into getting one.
This weekend is going to be pretty mello, with only Emma's b-day party on Sunday. Today we are going for a playdate with Drew and I am hoping to get Kaylin to the pool one last time next week before the baby is born.

Monday we went to the pool in Tipton with Julie and Danica. Jolene met us there with Jenna, Brandon and Curtis. The weather was perfect and the pool was not very crowded. The pool was 0 depth so Kaylin thought it was quite cool that she could get in and out of the pool by herself. She loves the pool and has no fear, she will even go under. It was great to get out and get some sun. Kaylin was exhausted when we got home. Tuesday we stayed home and I got some cleaning done. That night we went to Mom and Dad's for supper and to get Jenna to watch Kaylin Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning I headed to Dubuque with my dad and Julie for my dad's chemo treatment and I also had an ob appointment. Chemo went well, and so did my ob appointment. After our appointments we went out for breakfast and ran to Sams. It was a nice morning with my dad and sister.

Dad's 68th Birthday!

July 3rd we celebrated my dad's 68th Birthday! We also had Little Brandon's 13th Birthday party (he will turn 13 July 18). It was a great time. We had good weather, good food, and a great turn out. We had karoke for the 3rd year in a row, and again it was a hit. The karoke lady seemed to have a lot of fun, and ended up staying until 2:30 a.m. We had a lot of relatives from out of state come. They came from Colorado, Illinois, Indiana and Florida. I would say my dad is a pretty loved guy. Dad seemed to really enjoy himself, but I think staying up until 3 a.m. burnt him out a little bit. July 4th we hung out at mom and dad's and visited with the out of town relatives. We watched fireworks from my parents house that night, my sister-in-law Laurie was holding Kaylin, she said Kaylin would jump everytime it would pop, but other than that Kaylin did good. It was a fun, but exhausting weekend.

36 Weeks

I had my 36 week appointment yesterday and am happy to report that the baby went head down on his own. My sister Julie went with me, and her daughter Jenna stayed at my house with Kaylin. Dr. Mehta is pleased with the progress that has been made. She said there is only a 1% chance now that the baby will turn again! After the doctor's appointment, Julie and I ran to Kohl's and then went to Village Inn for breakfast. It was a very relaxing morning. We left Dubuque and brought Chad, Jenna and Kaylin lunch, then Julie, Jenna, Jack, Kaylin and I headed off to mom and dad's to help get ready for my dad's 68th birthday party. Julie stayed and cleaned, while I took the easy way out and went to Clinton with my dad to get last minute things. Later that night we enjoyed Geno's pizza and visiting with relatives from Florida and Colorado.

Niabi Zoo

Tuesday we went to Niabi Zoo with Kim, Drew, Emma, and our cousins from Colorado, Stacy, Katie, Taylor, and Jaycie. It was a chilly day, and was a little breezy, but it was a great day! Kaylin loved all the animals and was really good the entire day! After the zoo we went to McDonalds for supper and then to Emma's t-ball game. It was a very busy and exhausting day, but we had a great time!

The Weekend

Saturday, Courtney had softball tournaments in Maquoketa, so in between games, Jeannine, Darin and the kids came here. We ordered pizza and got Kaylin's pool set up. She didn't really get in the pool since the water was freezing, but enjoyed being outside. Later that afternoon we went to one of Courtney's game. Her team won, and even 12 run ruled the other team. That night Chad and I went out to eat and to the casino while Grandpa and Grandma Hentze watched Kaylin for a couple of hours. Needless to say, I think the casino is pointless, and I am still not happy about the $20 I lost.
Sunday, we got up and got ready to head down to Kim and Michael's for Drew's 1st Birthday party and Father's Day. The airshow was also going on, so we got to watch that, which Kaylin loved. Drew was a great little boy and he LOVED his cake.
