Playdate

Thursday night we went to Kim and Michael's. We had not seen Kim, Michael, or Drew in almost a month! Kaylin and Drew were so happy to see each other. The kids played for a little bit, then we took them for a walk in the wagon. Drew and Kaylin swang on the swingset while Michael grilled. We ate supper and then the kids took a bath. The violence between the two has started, with Drew slapping Kaylin across the face and Kaylin hitting him in the head with a toy. It is quite fun now that they are both mobile. Here are a few pictures of the two!

Our Little Farm Girl

Saturday we spent the day outside at Kim and Bubba's. Kaylin really thought she owned the place going from pen to pen to see the different animals. She saw cows, pigs, horses and numerous cats. She was really not afraid of anything, except Kim and Bubba's "gentle giant" Molly. Molly is a Belgian horse and is HUGE. She is super friendly and just wanted to tell Kaylin hi, but Kaylin was not having it. Kaylin really wanted to play with the cats, yes Kim I said cats, but they were all scared of her. Kim's dad Daryl and Bubba rode their horses around in the pasture and Kaylin got to watch that too. Kim and Bubba's black lab, Maggy, made a great babysitter. Wherever Kaylin went, Maggy was right behind her. Later in the afternoon, Bubba got the tractor out to give the horses a round bale of hay, so he gave Kaylin a ride. She loved it, and was upset when it was time to get off. I told her that Grandpa Sparks would not be very happy that her first tractor ride was not on a Deere, but oh well. Kaylin had a wonderful time, and was extremely exhausted when we got home. Here are some pics of her "adventure".

Checking out the cows, they were bottle fed last year,
so usually come right up to the gate!

Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound today. Everything looks great. The baby weighed 13 oz., which puts us 3 days ahead of where we should be!!! The heart, lungs, kidneys, stomach, etc. was all perfect. We also found out that Kaylin is going to have a little brother!!!!!! He was VERY active throughout the ultrasound, but the tech did get a clear shot of his penis, so she is pretty positive it is a boy. Here are some of the ultrasound pictures!

The 3D pictures

Kaylin went with to the doctors appointment. She was very interested in what the ultrasound tech was doing to mommy's belly. Dr. Mehta said my progress is going great. I FINALLY got a picture of Kaylin and Dr. Mehta (only 16 1/2 months late).

Updates

I haven't been very good at keeping the blog updated, but it is winter, and we really don't do a whole lot in the winter. Last Saturday, we went to Geno's to celebrate Courtney's 12th Birthday!!! I can't believe she is 12 already, it really seems like yesterday that she was born. She had a very good turnout and as usual, the pizza was great! Sunday, Kaylin and I spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa Sparks'. Aunt Julie, Uncle Craig, and Jenna were there, and Uncle Joe, Aunt Kelly and Justin came later. We had a good supper and a great visit with everyone! Other than that, we haven't done a whole lot. We did get to play outside a couple of days last week with the nice weather, which Kaylin LOVED.
The economy has been quite scary and Ennis (where Chad works) has laid off numerous people, but so far Chad's job is safe, and we keep praying it stays that way. Unfortunately for me, I have lost some kids due to parent layoffs and such. So I do have another ad in the paper, so I have my fingers crossed that I can pick up at least one full time kid.

On the baby note, I am 20 weeks along today. The baby has been quite active with lots of turns, tumbles and kicks. We do go for our ultrasound on Friday morning, so we are quite excited about that!!!!

Kaylin continues to grow and discover new things. She has turned into quite the "copy cat" and wants to do whatever Mommy is doing. She is really trying to master sweeping the floor, and I am just holding my breath she doesn't knock stuff off the shelves. She is continuing to learn new words everyday, and we are starting to get names down. She finally calls our dog Kinnick, Kinnick instead of Emma, but unfortunately for Bella, she is still called Emma. I tell everyone we have Kinnick and 2 Emmas. Kaylin really thinks she is the boss of our house and throws quite the tantrum when she does not get her own way, my dad just giggles and says he knows someone who was just like that.

As far as my dad goes, he had a cat scan about a month ago, and miraclously the cancer has not spread at all. It is still sitting the the EXACT same spot it was when it was discovered last May, which has his doctor just stunned. None of this really surprised me though, my dad's history with cancer is just astoninshing. He will have one more round of the infusions of chemo, and then they will stop because he is getting to the maximum that he can have. He will continue to stay on the chemo pills though. So we have so much to be thankful for and of course I thank God everyday for all the blessings we have been given.

Mommy and Kaylin, please do not be jealous of my tan (:
