A Few Updates

Thursday night we had our weekly playdate at Kim and Michael's (as you can probably tell, Kaylin and I don't have a life until Thursdays). I can't believe how big Kaylin and Drew are getting. They are so fun! Drew is now starting to "fight" back against Kaylin, so it is quite funny to watch. Kaylin is pretty sure all of Drew's toys are hers, and helps herself to the toys in his room.

After my daycare kids left Friday night, I attempted to go grocery shopping with Kaylin. Our microwave took a crap earlier in the day, so I decided to just run to Wal-Mart so I could just take care of everything. I got the microwave and put it in the cart, which didn't leave much room for groceries. Kaylin was severely crabby, so needless to say the attempt failed. At least I got the microwave!

Saturday we went to Kim and Michael's for a little bit before heading off to the Hentze Thanksgiving. I just love our time with Kim and Drew (and I guess Michael too!)

He is catching her in size. They are 2 lbs apart

Drew was so happy his favorite Great-Aunt was there
and his favorite cousin too!

He is trying his hardest to get to it

Look at what I got Drew! You want it?

Here you go! Notice where the toy is, yep she
threw it at him!

SATURDAY

This is for all the times you pushed me and poked
me in the eyes, and tried to pick me up......

Kaylin just would not look at the camera!

Update

Well the update on my dad is GREAT news! The cat scan showed that the cancer has not spread. Since my dad's hands are still numb from the chemo treatment he had a month ago, the doctor decided to postpone again until Dec. 2 so dad can get feeling back. Dad is very excited that he gets to feel good for a few weeks and he sounded in better spirits than I have heard him in a long time! Thank you so much for everyones thoughts and prayers, please keep them coming!

What a Weekend.....

Friday night we went to Kim and Michael's to have pizza with them. Amy, Brandon and Emma were also there. Kaylin was fine when we got there, she played with Emma for awhile and then became a little whiney. She wanted me to hold her, so I picked her up and could feel she was warm, so Kim took her temp; 102, you have got to be kidding me! Of course I felt horrible that I had brought my sick child around Drew and kept apologizing for it. Kaylin did not sleep good that night and the next morning had a temp of 101. Our doctor's office is closed on Saturdays, but Medical Associates here in Maquoketa is open, so I drug Kaylin out in the cold, windy weather to go there. We waited for 2 hours, to be seen by the dr. for 5 minutes, and I was told it was just a cold. Well my daughter has had colds before and has never ran a temp or been lethargic, but the dr. assured me it was just a cold. We got home and Kaylin ended up sleeping most of the day, and when she was awake she just wanted to be held, those of you that know my daughter knows she does not ever want to be held, she is constantly on the go!!!!! She continued to run a temp, and again had a VERY restless night. Sunday, she continued to run a temp between 101-102, and was SEVERLY irritable and restless, and she got a stupid bloody nose. Again she just wanted to be held. I gave her a bath Sunday night, and that seemed to be the only thing that made her happy. She loves her baths. I decided to just let her sit in there and play for a while. I sat on the stool beside the tub and looked through a magazine. I could see her keep trying to stand up out of the corner of my eye (which she likes to do to test me), so I kept telling her to sit down, and she would. She usually thinks this is a fun game. At one point I could see her try to stand, so I fully looked over at her to tell her to sit down and what do you know? She had pooped in the tub! Here my poor daughter was probably trying to stand to get away from it, and there I am, Mother of the Year, telling her to sit back down. So I call Chad up to get Kaylin so I can clean out the tub, and put clean water in, he walks in the bathroom, takes one look and gags, PUHLEASE!!!!! Anyway, I get the tub cleaned out and finish giving her the bath, poop free. Again she has a restless night. Monday morning she wakes up and is again running a 101 temp. I call our family doctor to get her in that day. Chad takes her in, and what do you know!? She has an ear infection and a bad sinus infection! Needless to say I am a little ticked off that my poor baby had to suffer all weekend, when on Saturday, if the dr. hadn't been in such a hurry to get us out, could have diagnosed her correctly. So anyway that is our weekend, I am sure it is a lot of rambling!

On a different note, my dad went for chemo last week and the dr. decided to wait a week to give it to him, as my dad had not yet recovered from the last treatment. So today my dad is at the doctor getting a cat scan to see if the cancer has spread, and another chemo treatment. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

Here are a few pics that have nothing to do with my post:

Well I guess this one does kind of, this was Friday
during the day.....

Kaylin discovered a case of Pepsi and helped herself
Here she is trying to drink it and DETERMINED to
get some out.

She thinks she is quite funny standing
in it and making it bounce. The thing is
now packed away before she breaks her neck!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Thursday night Kaylin and I headed to Kim and Michael's to trick or treat. They also invited Jim and Laurie, my mom and dad, Amy, Brandon and Emma. We ate pizza then got the kids ready to trick or treat. Kaylin really liked riding in the wagon, she liked it more than the whole trick or treating thing. The kids all looked so cute in their costumes, Kaylin was a cat, Emma was Minnie Mouse and Drew was a pumpkin.

Friday night we took Kaylin trick or treating at Grandma and Grandpa Hentze's house. Then we went to Target in Clinton to get Danica and Curtis' b-day presents. Kim and Bubba met us at Village Inn to eat and Kaylin was talking to everyone there. Chad, Kaylin and I went to Home Depot to see my dad. As soon as Kaylin saw my dad, she started fussing for him to take her out of the cart and hold her. She loves her Grandpa. Saturday, I went to Davenport to return Kaylin's bassinet, which had been recalled, go figure! Kaylin hung out with Daddy at home and watched the Iowa game. Sunday we had Danica and Curtis' b-day party. It was very busy and Kaylin and I are both exhausted from all the fun!
