Mother's Day

Mother's Day we got up and Kaylin gave me my card and my present. I got a ped-egg and I am also getting flowers to plant. We then got ready and headed to Chad's parents for a little bit. After we left there we headed to my parents where we grilled out, visited and then a game of wiffle ball broke out. Kaylin enjoyed being outside, and I got some good laughs watching. Kaylin did not get a nap that day due to all the excitment and I think she was sleeping before we even got backed out of my parents' driveway. It was a very nice Mother's Day.

Updates

We have been little busy bodies now that the weather has gotten nice. We try to get to Kim and Michael's once a week so the kids can have a playdate. They are both very active, and are partners in crime. Chad got a new job at Brad Deery, we are both very excited about that, and I think he will do very good there. I continue to get bigger and bigger. The baby is quite active, actually I think he is a lot more active than Kaylin was and I thought she was pretty active. I don't think the baby ever quits moving, but I love it. It is a great feeling, and it is very reassuring to me. Kaylin also keeps getting bigger and bigger, her vocabulary is really picking up. Potty training is still going on. She does alright, but I keep telling myself she is only 18 months old, she is still quite young. She does better pooping on the potty than peeing on the potty, which seems to be backwards. She is also quite the big helper. She likes to do anything I am doing, and actually gets upset with me when I am sweeping because she wants the broom.
Kaylin had her 18 month check-up yesterday. She weighs 23 lbs. and is 32 1/2". She is all done with shots until she is 5. She is the perfect little patient though and lets the nurses and the doctor do whatever they need to. She just sits there quietly for them. She just continues to amaze me everyday, and she is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me.

My dad had surgery on April 30 to repair a hyrnia. He is recovering well from the surgery. They did find a spot on his liver during a catscan. The spot has been there since 2005, but now they think it has grown and are fairly sure that it is cancer. He also had a tumor around the area where they repaired the hyrnia. Tuesday he will be starting a stronger dose of chemo to try and slow down the spreading of the cancer. Please keep my dad in your prayers.

I have posted a few pictures of the last couple of weeks.

Birthday Party and Playdate.....

Tuesday, April 14 my niece Jenna turned 15, talk about feeling old!!!! We went to Happy Joes in Dewitt to celebrate. Kaylin and I rode with my parents and then Chad met us there. Kaylin had fun in the play area.

Yesterday we went and spent the day with Kim and Drew. Kim took the kids for a bike ride, it was one of the most entertaining things I have seen in a long time. After the bike ride, the kids swang for a while. While the kids were napping, I went to Kim's hair stylist Liz for a haircut, it had been over a year since I had had one. Here are some pictures to enjoy from our adventures....

Easter

Easter morning, I had to wake Kaylin up at 9:00 to see what the Easter Bunny had brought her. The Easter Bunny brought her a golf set, a Bunny Easter basket with yogurt melts, and a stuffed duck. After Kaylin looked through her stuff, we got her dressed and headed off to Jim and Laurie's for brunch. We had an extremely good meal, and I know that I ate WAY to much. After we ate, I got Kaylin's clothes changed for the HUGE Easter egg hunt (there were over 2000 eggs this year)! Aunt Julie helped Kaylin find her eggs, and Kaylin did a good job. She got 37 eggs and even found an egg worth $5. In total she made $9 off the Easter egg hunt. After the egg hunt we went inside to visit and play. The grandkids and great-grandkids got their Easter baskets from Grandma and Grandpa Sparks. It was a really good day!

24 Weeks

I had my 24 week check-up last Wednesday and of course, Baby Boy Hentze decided he would give the nurse a hard time again with the heartrate. The nurse would find it, look at her watch to time it, and he would move away. This went on for a good 10 minutes, she finally got it at 132. Dr. Mehta is pleased with my progress and said the baby had defitnantely gotten bigger (which is always good to hear).

Kaylin is continuing to grow and learn and discover new things. Her vocabulary is picking up, and she is starting to repeat words. She is learning names and of course, animal sounds. She is continuing on the potty and has even pooped twice. She really thinks she is the coolest girl sitting up there. She just amazes me each and everyday!!!!

Think a chiropractor may be needed to help with
that posture!

Potty Time

A few weeks ago, Kaylin was in the bath and she stood up and started grunting. Well this child has pooped in the bath tub on 3 different occasions and it is a huge pain! So I grabbed her and set her on the toilet, she did not freak out or anything, she just sat up there and pooped, in the potty. Well lately she has been showing interest in sitting on the potty so we have just been letting her sit up there. She usually doesn't do anything but sit up there, but today she peeded!!!! I was so ecstatic! We have been wanting to start working with her before the baby came, but her showing the interest in it is even better!!!!!

Jenna's Confirmation

March 28, we had Jenna's confirmation and her b-day party. The weather was TERRIBLE. It was stinking snowing, and we couldn't go over 40. What should have taken an hour to get to Wilton took us a good 2. From the Confirmation we headed back to Bennett to celebrate Jenna's confirmation and her 15th Birthday. That trip we couldn't go over 25 without spinning our tires and sliding all over. We finally made it and decided to just stay at Julie and Craig's and make the attempt in the morning. The next morning the roads were clear and the sun was shining melting everything, so it was a breeze getting home. That afternoon Chad went to a movie with his dad and Kaylin and I went and spent the rest of the day with my parents.
