Drew's Birthday Party/ Delaney's Baptism

Sunday was Drew's 2nd Brithday party and Delaney's baptism at Kim and Michael's. Kaylin was so excited to go. She played in the pool, played with Drew's gator, enjoyed cake and ice cream, and then the air show started. A jet flew low over Kim and Michael's and scared her..... the rest of the party she cried whenever a plane went over, so unfortunately we had to leave the birthday party early.

The kids have really been enjoying being able to get outside, now that the rain has subsided (for now). Ethan has been starting to feed himself table food, I can't believe my baby is old enough for that.

This week we have relatives in from Colorado. We are hoping to go the Heritage Canyon in Fulton today and tomorrow we are hitting up Scott County pool. Friday will bring babysitting and then heading to my mom and dad's to get things ready for my dad's 69th Birthday Saturday. Saturday we have his birthday party, and I will be taking the grandkids picture. Sunday is the 4th of July...... phew I'm exhausted just thinking about our week......

Chicago/ Father's Day

Saturday we went into Chicago for my cousin Tim's graduation party. We had booked rooms at the Holiday Inn Select. There was some sort of sci-fi conference going on there, and there were serious freaks all over the place. We got all checked in and went to Tim's party. The party was very nice and again, it was so good to see cousin's that I had not gotten to see in awhile. At about 7:00 Ethan started getting crabby so Chad and I and Kim and Michael (and Alishia and Jenna) decided to head back to the hotel to get some swimming in. Kaylin wasn't really too in to it which surprised me, so she pretty much sat on the edge and kicked her feet. Ethan and Drew were both maniacs in the pool, it was so fun to watch them. After swimming we all went back to our rooms. Chad, Alishia, Jenna, Kaylin, Ethan and I all shared a room. We finally got to bed around midnight. At 1:00 a.m. we were woken up by the fire alarm, so we had to rip our kids out of bed and take them outside. The fire department came, and gave the all clear so we headed back into the building. Thankfully Kaylin and Ethan went right back to sleep. At 8 a.m. we were all woken up again by the fire alarm, and once again had to leave the building. After we once again got the okay, we went and ate breakfast with Kim and Michael and the kids and then went swimming for a little bit. After we left Chicago, we went to my parents' house to celebrate Father's Day. Kelly and Joe have 2 of their horses there, Lucky and Sunny, so Kelly got them out so the kids could ride them. Kaylin had a blast. So needless to say it was a very interesting weekend, and Chad and I have came to the conclusion that maybe we aren't meant to leave our house overnight!

Wedding

June 12, I went to my cousin's wedding in Hampton, IA. I got to see a lot of family that I hadn't seen in a long time, some as long as 15 years. I went by myself since Chad had to work. It was a lot of fun. I had so much fun with my siblings (minus Jeannine) and brother-in-law and sisters-in- law. It was so great seeing everyone!

Mexico

June 4-8 Chad and I went to Playa Del Carmen Mexico for Chad's brother's wedding. The resort was beautiful. Chad and I got were to the resort by 1:30 on June 4th so we had most of the day to enjoy the beach and the pool. Everyone else was there by the evening hours. Unfortunately the floors there are all marble and extremely slippery. Chad ended up falling and cracking his head open...... we spent 9 hrs. in a Mexican hospital. Chad ended up with 12 stitches, they did a head ct since this was his second head injury and he cracked his head down to the skull, and they kept him for observation. The doctor's there were wonderful and thankfully spoke English, I can't say that about the nurses, they were worthless. After the 9 hrs. in the hospital, we finally got back to the resort. We took showers and went and grabbed lunch, than we went to take a nap. I was exhausted, as I had not slept in over 34 hrs. We napped, and both woke up a couple hrs. later completely drenched in sweat......our air conditioner was not working. To make a long story short, they sent maintenance to our room 4 different times, and finally got our air conditioner working Sunday night. Monday was the day of the wedding. We enjoyed time in the pool in the morning and then went and got ready in the afternoon. The wedding was at 4:00 on the beach. It was very beautiful; hot, but beautiful. After the wedding there was a reception and dance until 10:00. After the reception we went to a bar until 11:00 and then Chad and I went back to our room to get some sleep, our shuttle came and got us at 9 a.m. to take us to the airport. We landed in Moline at 8:45 p.m. and finally got home at 10:30 p.m. It was a great resort, and Chad and I both agreed we would go back under different circumstances. I missed my kids terribly, I hadn't ever been away from them that long. It was kind of sad leaving Mexico, but I was also thrilled to be home.

Catching Up

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I will try and catch you up on our lives. We had some wonderful weather at the end of May, so the kids got to spend plenty of time outside playing in the pool.

May 27th we welcomed my great niece into this world, Miss Delaney Rose Fischer was born at 3:39 p.m. weighing in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. 19" long. She is absolutely perfect and I was so relieved she was born before we went to Mexico. Kaylin is infatuated with her...... Ethan hasn't even acknowledged her yet.
